Proposition 73, the parental notification initiative, is by far the most dangerous item on the ballot this November. While it may sound like a good idea, and while parents rightfully want to be involved in their teens lives, government can't mandate familiy communication.
Furthermore, Prop 73 puts scared, vulnerable teens in harms way, by forcing them to choose between appearing alone before a judge, or resorting to an illegal or self induced abortion, which could lead to serious injury or even death.
The Campaign for Teen Safety, No on Prop 73, is being spearheaded by Planned Parenthood, and is supported by the ACLU of Northern California, the CA Nurses Association, and the CA Medical Association.
Please help us mobilize voters on this very close, very important issue.
We're Phone Banking every Monday and Thursday till November 8th, and we need your help. A volunteer calling voters can reach almost 200 voters in a three hour shift. With an all volunteer staff of callers like yourself, we can reach 10,000 voters in Sonoma County by election day.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Please give us a call, lend a hand, and pick up the phone.
