"BUSH BATTLE" RAP AT CELLSPACE TONIGHT
WorldCan'tWait.Org Presents "Bush Battle" Rap Event Tonight, Thursday, October 13, with Spenser the Speaker and Wiseproof at Cellspace in San Francisco
On Thursday, October 13, 2005, WorldCantWait.org is sponsoring a "Bush Battle" fundraiser from 8:00 to midnight at Cellspace, 2050 Bryant St, San Francisco, (415) 648-7562), a funky 10,000 square foot interior where arts and media classes are held, and SF artists' talents showcased.
"Bush Battle" hip-hop artists will bend music into protest, grabbing a phrase or a quote from "Bush Crime Family" members and rapping about it.
They may lay down beats using Bill Bennett's recent Oops on his "Morning in America" radio show, ".. abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down"
Or, Rumsfeld's slam on his critics: "These people stand up and fuss at the United States because there's a baby in the street who was killed by something."
Or, Lady Bountiful Barbara feeling the pain of Katrina victims: "The people in the (Astrodome) arena here...were underprivileged anyway, so ...this is working very well for them."
Emperor Bush himself and his vow to "rid the world of evil doers," may be the delicious raw material for the creative extrapolations of such Bay Area artists as unbelievable rappers, Spencer The Speaker and Wiseproof, who just came out with a new CD.
World Cant Wait's "Bush Battle" rap event has two objectives.
The first is to raise funds for an Air America Radio ad announcing a massive national day of resistance on November 2, the first anniversary of Bush's re-election.
At 12:00 noon on that day, people will walk out of school, take off work and proceed to "downtowns and town squares" like San Francisco's Civic Center, voting with their feet in huge numbers, making a powerful statement that the leaders of the Bush Regime, many currently under indictment for crimes, does not represent the American people, and it will be driven out.
A second purpose is to give American citizens a voice, an organized way to express themselves and use their constitutional right to dissent.
Last Saturday, October 8, a group from World Can't Wait drove in a van with a loudspeaker down Fillmore, through the Haight, to the Tenderloin and the Mission in public protest against government crimes and atrocities.
They announced the November 2 walkout, decried Bush regime tortures, protested the war and corporate political funding.
They complained of the three consecutive days of Blue Angels jets dive-bombing over San Franciscans' houses and heads, over elementary schools as kids looked up screaming, "That's a bomber!" They pointed out the government display of Armed might. Those were not commercial planes! Blue Angel jets drop bombs on people and kill them!
They verified that Hispanic immigrants without voting status can join the military by checking the non-resident "Other" box. The U.S. Army promises that their death in battle will secure citizenship for their family.
The response from the 500 to 600 people they passed on the street was positive and highly emotional. High school students spontaneously grabbed and passed out World Can't Wait fliers. Business people emerged from their stores saluting and cheering. People honked horns. Van riders received hugs from the crowd.
Illegal immigrants, sitting on the curb at 24th and Mission waiting for work, picked up orange cones and yelled "Drive Out the Bush regime" in Spanish.
It is expected that last Saturday's drive through the San Francisco streets will be a small precursor of the November 2 walkout and mass protest. It will be followed that day by many events similar to the "Bush Battle," happening on Thursday, October 13, 8:00 to midnight at Cellspace.
A sign-up sheet will be available starting at 8:00 p.m tonight. The rap will begin at 9:00.
Everyone is invited.

Illegal? I don't know if the RCP has caught on yet, but NO ONE is illegal.

Received hugs? this is such bullshit.

Rather than saying noone is illegal I prefer to look at where the notion of legality comes from and recognize that the people in charge decide what is legal and illegal and they have and are certainly able to make human beings illegal.
If you disagree with them you'll be illegal too. Moreover if you think that they should be overturned you already are illegal.
I say proudly that I'm illegal.

Article's author agrees: "No one is illegal." Such a meaning was not intended, nor should it be inferred.
