9/24 Peace March: When the Saints Came Marching In
As a fabulous brass band played When the Saints Come Marching In, we started our peace march from Dolores Park in San Francisco, in glorious 75 degree sunshine, with an energizing enthusiasm that lasted the entire 1.5 miles to Jefferson Square Park, boldly and colorfully proclaiming that our peace movement is bigger and better than ever.

The creativity in signs and costumes was amazing and the sustained and varied chants and songs from the young people in the lead contingents inspired all of us to keep fighting until we win. Our 50,000 strong peace march took over all of Market Street from Church Street to Van Ness, and one-half of Van Ness from Market to Turk, a milestone in breath for recent peace marches.
The struggle continues to supporting the college not combat initiative on the San Francisco ballot in November, Proposition I, and in supporting any and all counter recruitment activities, as no military can exist without its soldiers.
The peaceniks have come marching in and we will march and counter recruit until we have peace.

50,000 people marched into Jefferson square, to be met with a capatist extravagaza. They wasa wide variety of items available for purchsce. Garlic Fries for Justice. Corn Dogs for Peace. And Louisiana Sausage for Solidarity with our brothers in New Orleans. And as usual, the Anarcists were there trying to make a quick buck selling t-shirts.
A good time was had by all.
