After the Gaza "Disengagement"
A conversation with Khalil Barhoum, Coordinator of Stanford University's Program in Middle Eastern and African Languages and Literature, and Rachelle Marshall, columnist for _Washington Report on Middle East Affairs_
As the so-called "disengagement" from Gaza has come to an end and the Israeli government turns its hawkish eye toward consolidation in the West Bank, the lines of debate over the motives and value of the pull-out have been drawn.
Propaganda efforts have build up the disengagement, surrounding it with a kind of euphoria, complete with claims that there is new momentum for restarting the dead peace process. All of this lofty talk is going on with few people looking back to see what actually happened the previous time we were told that peace was knocking at the door.
Free and open to the public.
Cable TV Broadcasts:
Simultaneous Live Broadcast on Cable Channel 27 - Mid-Peninsula Cable
Rebroadcast throughout the month on Channel 27: Sundays, 12:00 noon; Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m.; Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.; Thursdays, 5:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
