Who is Harvey Milk ? Volunteers needed ASAP

Harvey Milk City Hall Memorial Committee , a non profit effort to raise funds to commission a formal bronze of the late Supervisor Harvey Milk for placement in SF City Hall has been formed and needs volunteers of all stripes. Data entry, graphic design, public outreach etc.

Most immediately we need greeters at the booth now being organized for the Castro Street Fair, Oct 2nd. Volunteering for a non-profit at the Castro Street Fair is a whole lot of fun. Reaching out to all the folks who live here about Harvey Milk is a chance to further civil rights. Many newcomers to San Francisco do not know who Harvey Milk is.

We meet periodically on Mondays at 6:30 PM in the offices of the LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade Committee . The meetings are held in room Q35 at the LGBT Center, 1800 Market St. ... and we post the meeting schedule about a week or two prior to the meetings on our egroup: milkmemorial [at] yahoogroups.com

We really need a few more solid committee members to serve various posts which require consistent meeting attendance and voting, but there are also lots of volunteer opportunities for folks who don't want to attend meetings but who want to help in other ways. Just contact us to get on our volunteer email list and give us a sense of your interests and availability.
