Please join WAGES (Women's Action to Gain Economic Security) to celebrate 10 years of pioneering work with women's cooperatives and learn about our vision for the future. Renowned environmentalist Julia Butterfly Hill will speak, and a small panel of immigrant women will share how their lives and their health have been transformed through their participation in the WAGES cooperatives. In addition to speakers, there will be a raffle, Latin American Folk Music by La Pena Community Chorus, green business displays by Wages coops, and delicious vegetarian food.
About WAGES
WAGES (Women's Action to Gain Economic Security) works with low-income immigrant women to form cooperative businesses that create dignified, well-paid jobs for their members, without damaging the environment or their health. We have launched three successful Eco-Friendly Cleaning cooperatives in the Bay Area (Emma's Eco-Clean, Eco-Care Professional Housecleaning, and Natural Home Cleaning Professionals). In the years ahead, we will bring this model of worker cooperatives to other communities and industries
Childcare, easy parking and bart access.
