Help Spread the Social Strike

The Social Strike is right around the corner, and its something to get excited about. This is a direct action on a city-wide scale, it is riders and drivers acting together, in their own interest. By fighting back, we stand to save millions of dollars in fares, save jobs, and restore transit services. Get involved with the strike now!

1) Click here to sign up to help out with outreach.

2) Send emails to your friends or community/social/political/religious groups.

3) Talk to drivers and riders when you are riding the muni. Tell them about the strike, encourage them to participate. And ask them to PASS IT ON!

You don't pay. You don't ride. We will encourage every drive to collect fares. That way when you hold up the bus with your nonpayment, you can answer to your fellow paying riders. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to pay your way.

The fact that you feel the need to encourage Muni drivers to collect fares indicates that you know many are sympathetic to calls for a fare strike. After all, anger at Muni management runs wide and deep.

Believe me, your "encouragement" ain't gonna decide this thing.

we encourage drivers not to collect. their interests and our interests are the same (the drivers are getting laid off, the ones being kept on are being worked harder to make up the slack, and this strike is about fixing that too, not just the fares).

also keep in mind, you can't REQUIRE them to collect fares because that ISNT THEIR JOB!
