Chico celebrates the third day of solidarity with Cindy Sheehan at Camp Casey vigil. The vigil is taking place 24/7 at Children's Park in Chico at Broadway and 1st St. near CSU. Chico's Food Not Bombs joined the vigil this weekend with tasty free vegan cuisine. There is also an on site reading library and art materials available for anyone who wishes to express their support for Cindy Shehan's quest for justice and answers in the loss of her son Casey..

Since Friday's beginning of the camp we have seen an increase in support and attendance from our community. We discuss alternatives to petrochemical dependency that is recognized as the primary reason for the US military occupation of Iraq. The local corporate media has also appeared to interview people. Simultaneously vigil supporters are becoming our own independant media by engaging in dialogue with passerbys and further explaining our positions and goals. A support card for Cindy is available for signing with a brief message..

The next few days will include possible showing of political movies. Trainings for non-violent direct action and engaging corporate media in dialogue are also planned. Info about exact times available at the campsite. Wednesday at 6pm there will be a candlelight vigil. Spontaneous drum circles and dancing could happen at anytime..

If you're near Chico, please come to Camp Casey vigil in support of Cindy Sheehan's quest for justice. This includes justice for the thousands of other US soldiers and Iraqi civilians that have lost their lives and/or suffer with cancer from depleted uranium exposure in the US invasion/occupation of Iraq. The men and women who serve in the military of the United States of America are the bolunteer patriots, not Cindy Shehan. Her son died as a patriot and I think would be appalled were he to see her actions.
This is a very selfish, self-destructive woman who is so gullible as to be used by George Soros, MoveOn.org and the leftwing lunies of this country who will do all they can to destroy what other men and women in other wars fought to preserve. We do know the name for women who are used for their own gratification, don't we?
She's a phony who changed her story about President George W. Bush when she became a very confused individual and bougt into those who seek to do this adminstration the greatest harm it can.
They exhibit treachery and treason.
All who align themselves with such idiotic thinking and who can't understand that the "noble cause" in quesiton is just that - to free citizens who have been oppressed for so long, who have been tortured, raped and killed from this horrific life are out of touch with the realities of the world.
Cindy Shehan and her fellow travelers are a travesty to all honorable Americans.
Rant on Cindy Shehan, while the majority respect your son's sacrifice, we do not respect you.

First of all, the reasons stated were "immenent threat" and WMD's---I could get you plenty of quotes if you'd like--but you're probably a troll, in denial, who won't return.
Also, I challenge you to look at the hypocrisy--in that the US helped Saddam (the 'evil' one) when it was convenient and turned a blind eye when he actually had and used chemical weapons...
