SF Rally to Support Cindy Sheehan, Troops Out Now!
Over 200 rallied and marched last night in San Francisco in support of Cindy Sheehan’s ongoing vigil near Bush’s vacation ranch outside of Crawford, Texas.
On less than two days notice, over 200 rallied and marched last night in San Francisco in support of Cindy Sheehan’s ongoing vigil near Bush’s vacation ranch outside of Crawford, Texas. Initiated by Not in Our Name with the support of CodePink, College Not Combat, Bay Area United Against War, Refuse and Resist!, Veterans for Peace, and many others, the rally included a Gold Star Families for Peace member who’s brother was killed serving in Iraq and a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. Following the brief rally, marchers made their way up to Union Square. Donations were specifically requested to help send a local Not in Our Name organizer to Crawford early next week in support of “Camp Casey.” Cindy's son, Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed in Sadr City, Iraq on April 4, 2004.
