Audio of speeches given at Powell & Market. (People then marched to the Brazilian Consulate at 300 Montgomery.) July 21, 2005. There should be lots of video coming of the rally as there were half-a-dozen videographers -- not even counting the SF police. Twenty-seven minute QT audio file. 18MB.

...The haitian situation is complex. There are not good boys and bad boys, and if UN forces are -nowadays acting- as they do it is after a very strong demand from the haitian civil society, which was terrified by the upcoming chaos. Therefore, rather than taking automatically the easy way: attacking the UN (which doens not means anything, you have forces from more than 15 different countries in Haiti); please try to do an easy accounting exercice: How many innocent civilians where killed by UN forces and how many others where killed because of the inaction of the UN forces on the first months of their mandate?
