San Francisco – Space Gallery and the Academy of Art University Fashion Department’s BFA graduating class of 2005 is pleased to host the First-Annual Off-Academy Fashion Show on Friday, July 29th, 2005.
During their senior year at the AAU, 28 BFA students worked for months to prepare their clothing line for the AAU Fashion Show.
After long nights of stitching hems and sewing patterns, all but six of these students were told by the event staff that their final designs “just didn’t work.”
They have no photographs or press clippings of their final creations to include in their portfolios. The finished pieces sit in boxes, tucked away in closets. Forgotten...until now.
The talented designers include Autry Tolbert, Kathy Nagy, Jeffery Issac, Stephanie Guzman, Darcy Barber, Karen Aubrey and Deepti Dawar.
Please join us on Friday, July 29th, from 7-10pm at Space Gallery, 1141 Polk Street at Sutter, as the lights dim, the music starts, the models strut their stuff and these talented and creative designers finally share their visions.
All ages welcome!
