What the Police say about Anarchists
Paper on Anarchist tactics by Eugene PD. This article provides a descriptive, operational analysis of the modern anarchist
movement, emphasizing the actions of the criminal anarchists and implications for
US law enforcement. It begins by explaining some core tenets of anarchist “theory,”
and its relationship to violence, then describes the structure, tactics and tradecraft
of militant anarchist activists. It concludes that Anarchism is a revolutionary movement,
not just a “protest group.” Clearly not all anarchists advocate or engage in
violence, but some do. Those individuals and factions pose a particular concern to
law enforcement. This article offers some practical recommendations to law enforcement
for preventing and managing those direct action attacks that may compromise
public safety.

I literally just finished reading this. It is incredibly insightful. While I may disagree with various conclusions put forth, I'd still contend that it is one of the best researched and written articles on the anarchist movement today that I've ever read. Crazy.
know as much about the police as they do about us?
It's refreshing to see that someone hasn't allowed their bias to get the best of them.
haha haha haha haha haha haha haha ... if i can't dance, i don't want any part of your revolution

While we should certainly read what the cops saying about us*, we should also read our side's best available analysis of the cops! I'm referring to the book, Our Enemies In Blue: Police And Power In America by Kristian Williams.

* Although I don't consider myself an anarchist, for the sake of this discussion my differences with anarchism are irrelevant.
Thanks for posting this report. It provides some good insight.

i been to a few meetings at the oakland bookstore at 23rd and mlk. i've come away with some great information about how to handle police, about the social movements in venzuela, etc.
a thought:
the terror bombings of 911, london and baghdad are examples of "propaganda of the deed."
they were committed by islamic anarchists.

This is true, I do not deny it. Islamic Anarchists have as yet not added a social movement to their cause as far as I know.
One of the achievements of some American Anarchists is, I believe, the development of a grass roots collaborative effort at self governing. By collaborative effort I mean obtaining unanimous approval of any contemplated actions.
If all do not agree on an action, then the action fails. This is a good thing since no actions should ever be taken that harm anyone in the community. If even one person is harmed, then a failed action is justified and good for the whole.
