Is this 24 horus? If not what are the times for picketing?

I saw them out there around 11:30am. Lots of honks in support from passersby. Shattuck between Parker and Carleton.

the picket will be during the dealership's business hours, which are approximately 9-9, including on the weekend.

First off, the whole idea of an "informational picket line", i.e., a picket line that it's OK to cross, undermines the idea that one shouldn't cross a picket line without a good (political, not personal!) reason. Secondly, this particular "informational picket line" is, apparently, meant NOT to be crossed, so further confusion is added!

It is context dependent. With some picket lines, it is important that people cross and ask for services in order to illustrate the fact that those jobs exist. For instance, the university teaching assistants wanted the students to go to class and demand instruction. After all, no one notices teachers aren't there on weekends or holidays. Buying things at a store where there is a strike is a different matter.

"Informational" simply means the picket line was established for the purpose of informing the public of the union's general position regarding a particular issue, e.g., the employer may be paying less than union wages, does not have a union contract, or is selling goods produced by a struck or nonunion employer. It doesn't imply anything else about the nature of the dispute or what the union is calling for.

Presumably the term originated to limit the liability of the picketers -- "Hey, this is just a first amendment for-your-information kind of thing, wink wink."

It does sort of imply no one will be beating up the scabs. Ahh, that would be nice to see on Shattuck.
