Artists for Social and Political Awareness (ASPA) and the CCA Center for Art and Public Life present: An eclectic night of music and entertainment to benefit ArtEsteem, an art and social justice program for local youth. Diamond kids shake the house with the hottest hiphop moves in the Bay! AJBJCJDJ Kevin Brings His Records hiphop, funk, breaks, and punk Quadruped closes the house 10:30-11pm The mic will be open for spoken word in between acts and the food is free once you get in the door. $10-$30 sliding scale (no one turned away for lack of funds). Come and enjoy some great music and wonderful people while suporting a much-needed program! About ArtEsteem: the program uses the arts for expressiopn, community-building, self-esteem, academic and emotional literacy. The goal is to empower urban young people to think critically about themselves and their community as community builders. ArtEsteem is sponsored by a local non-profit caled Attitudinal Healing Connection that works to eliminate violence by supporting creative and educational programs that transform the Spirit and build Peaceful and Loving Communities for all Humanity.
