WEEKLY PROTEST, VIGIL
(AND Street-Party-With-A-Purpose!)
EVERY SATURDAY 12-4 P.M.
San Francisco CIVIC CENTER PLAZA
(Starts 3/26/05)
* * * TO STOP Abuse & Torture In Our Names! * * *
* * * And to DEMAND An Independent Investigation.* * *
[*To determine publicly –for those who don't already know– who was and is responsible for the formulation and practice of these techniques against foreign military and intelligence captives of the U.S.A.]
We aim to be a constant –in-your-face– presence for this cause because we see it as a means for bringing together politically diverse people from across the country in support of (omigod) –a shared– moral outrage (on an issue that also strikes at the heart of the Bush Administration).
WE NEED:
...YOU, Your Friends, Family, Classmates, and Co-Workers
to be there for sure...but that's just the minimum.
We really need for you to see this as the opportunity for creative theatre, graphics, spoken-word pieces, drumming, music, and dancing that it is and will remain for as long as we are needed.
(The aim though is to achieve success before the end of the summer!)
Just remember that to make a REAL difference and to succeed in forcing the government into an independent investigation, and into cessation of such activities, we also need you to keep your participation FOCUSED on our goals. Other causes are worthwhile and supported, but here we want to keep the message CLEAR, consistent, demanding and LOUD to insure our success.
Please bring at least one "on-topic" sign or banner per small group. Get as big and creative as you want to be. Build papier-mache puppets, stage theatrical pieces or silent vigils and meditations, create a spoken-word piece ---just remember our point!
– First here in S.F., then across the country! –
"a ground-floor opportunity" for the right-minded people!
//P.S.// The initial weekend (3/26) will also see another action at the C.C. Plaza, the American Friends "EYES WIDE OPEN" exhibit, so if it's crowded, after you check out their exhibit of fifteen-hundred, name-attached, empty pairs of combat-boots, LOOK FOR US, and come join the scene!
peace!
