Three thousand people converged on Fayetteville, North Carolina to mark two years of war and occupation in Iraq on March 19, 2005. Led by Iraq Veterans Against the War, Veterans for Peace, Military Families Speak Out, and by the North Carolina Peace and Justice Coalition, marchers rallied outside of Fort Bragg, home of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and Special Forces. Michael Hoffman, backed by fellow members of Iraq Veterans Against the War—so actually still in the military—brings Rowan Park to its feet (first photo).
