Party for

The Insomniac Reader
Monday, March 7th
7 p.m.
Free

Manic D Press and City Lights bookstore celebrate the
release of

The Insomniac Reader: Stories of the Night
edited by Kevin Sampsell

Editor Kevin Sampsell will be reading with the
ever-fabulous Michelle Tea, the talented Richard
Rushfield, and an actress hired by Dave Eggers to read
his story written under the pen name of Lucy Thomas
(go figure... and here I was, thinking post-modernism
was dead)

The Insomniac Reader: Stories of the Night explores
the dark side - literally and figuratively - of
evening time. From James Tate's tale of a reckless
businesswoman in a hotel bar ("Suite 1306") to
Jonathan Ames' experience as an outsider in a town
hungry for violence ("Everybody Dies in Memphis"),
each adventure - every action and choice - leads to
unexpected situations... or tragedies.

Wine and snacks provided, so come on down!(Honestly,
what else are you doing on a Monday evening? Michelle
Tea's story hasn't been published before, it's about
when she lived on 14th St in the Mission - that story
alone is worth the price of admission... oh yeah, it's
a free event... okay, so come on down anyway)

Hope to see you there
