Artists for Social and Political Awareness present an event that will examine the connection between massive war costs and the dire financial situation of West Oakland public schools. Jay Sordean, counselor at War Tax Resistance, will speak to the corruption of the U.S. tax system and present a radical alternative for taxpayers. Amana Harris, an Oakland community activist and founder of the social justice progrem Art Esteem will discuss the inequality of funding in the Oakland public education system and the apparent effects on the West Oakland community.
