Oakland: "No Curfews No Cages"
Anti-curfew protesters from All of Us or None, Critical Resistance and other community groups placed Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown under symbolic house arrest at 10 p.m. last night, in protest of a new curfew plan for people on parole or probation.
Under Brown's plan -- which he apparently hopes will help boost him into the state Attorney General's office -- thousands of probationers and former prisoners, faced with the task of rebuilding their lives after serving time, would face arrest and seven to thirty days of jailtime simply for being on the streets after 10 p.m. The "martial law" plan would rack up as of yet uncalculated costs for police, jails and other local government departments.
Propaganda circulated on the street by the Mayor's office claims that the curfew plan would make probationers "safer" since they accounted for a "large percentage" of homicide victims.
Protesters call the new curfew plan a Gestapo-like suppression of liberties, and compare it to South Africa's "pass laws" and the post-Civil War "black codes."
Residents of the old Sears building at 27th and Telegraph, where Jerry lives in his girlfriend's live-work loft, appear to have the mayor's back. Two spat on the crowd of protesters, and one came outside to argue angrily with organizers. Another even came outside, threw what appeared to be a bottle of mustard at a corporate news truck and knocked over a camera.

Good job to the planners of this, who took the right approach to getting major media coverage. There were several minutes on 10 o'clock news, and the Chronicle as well.
I reported a murder and a murder attempt against myself and thieving and money laundering at my past employer, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in San Francisco.
When fleeing for my life, I parked on VA property to rest. My legally owned firearms were in my U Haul. They forced drugs upon me, abused me, and will not give me a trial by jury, and made me sign something saying I was a felon.
The USA government is out of control. Let it burn shore to bloody caged shore.
Mobile Audit Club, free video of some abuses. Federal government Treasury department police destroyed some of the videos.
This land is their land. Let's take it back, or die trying.
