RALLY/DEMONSTRATION
AGAINST CITY SERVICE CUTS

Monday December 20, 2004 Noon
City Hall Steps
"DON'T BE A GRINCH, GAVIN!"
Stop Cuts in Services to Seniors, Disabled and Families

During this holiday season the Mayor is trying to cut funding
for several programs that serve the most disadvantaged people in our community.
These mid year cuts will be in effect for 18 months.
Come speak out against this attack on services for low-income seniors, disabled and families.
Let the Board of Supervisors know that budget cuts to those who can afford it the least will not be tolerated.
Don't let them rush this through over the holidays.

Just a few of the proposed cuts are:
… $2,094,406 to Private Provider Network (PPN) Outpatient Mental Health. This means that 1,710 uninsured, indigent clients will lose all access to mental health services
… $4,124,730 This eliminates urgent care medical services at Tom Waddell Health Center. This means approximately 20,000 fewer patient visits.
… $406,875 to the SF General Hospital Pharmacy co-payment program. This will make medications unaffordable and unavailable for almost 4000 low-income people.

These cuts are merely the tip of the iceberg. There are many, many more.

Rally Sponsored by the new San Francisco Peoples Organization, Senior Action Network and Senior Housing Action Collaborative. Call 415-546-1333 for more information.
