Hello Bay Area Activists!
As you may be aware, PETA is asking activists to speak up for rabbits by protesting the sale of fur at Wet Seal stores. I’m writing to tell you that we’re staging a demonstration in your area, and we’d love for you to join us.
The label “100 percent rabbit fur” is meant to be a mark of quality, but for many, it is a reminder of the horrific cruelty that rabbits endure on fur farms. Hundreds of millions of rabbits slaughtered for their fur and their flesh every year spend their entire lives confined to tiny metal cages, surrounded by their own waste. The methods of slaughter are no more humane—rabbits are killed by having their necks broken or their skulls beaten before they are strung up by the legs to have their heads cut off.
The demonstration will take place on Monday, December 20th at 12 noon sharp in front of the San Francisco Shopping Centre (Wet Seal’s store is in the shopping center) at 865 Market St (near the intersection of Market and 5th Streets in downtown San Francisco). Meet outside the main entrance to the shopping center. We will provide leaflets and posters—so there’s no need to bring anything at all.
For more information, check out http://www.peta2.com/tc/t-wetseal.html. If you have any questions, please contact PETA campaign coordinator Lisa Franzetta at LisaF@peta.org or by phone at 757-622-7382, x8025.
I hope that you can make it to the protest. Thank you for everything that you do for animals.
