2. Regional Meeting on Education by A.I.D.E

Friends,

As the year rolls around, another wave of budget cuts
and school closures is coming around. This year,
we are trying to connect our forces with all the
other forces fighting for education. As we continue
to build the AIDE network, we invite all of you to
help us build a stronger movement for education.

Started in the Bay Area, A.I.D.E. is a network of
folks concerned with educational issues. In a
Statewide conference held in October, people from SF
State, UC Berkeley, De Anza Community College, and
other schools and organizations of the Bay met with
students organizing in Santa Cruz, Long Beach, Santa
Barbara, Sonoma and San Diego.

Our objective is to get more representation in order
to collectively strategize for building a more unified
movement to reprioritize education. We aim to connect
the issues of higher education with those of K-12, and to
learn to diversify and escalate our tactics to include
collaborative use of information, outreach,
organizing, mass community mobilization and direct
action as guiding principles.
With these objectives in mind we invite you to a
regional call-out meeting to dialogue about our organizing efforts in
the
bay area and how we can support each other.

The meeting will be held Sunday
Dec. 12 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Richmond Making Changes
Freedom School. The address is 633 17th St, Richmond,
CA. Three blocks from the Richmond BART.

4. CALIFORNIANS FOR JUSTICE
END OF YEAR RECEPTION

COME CELEBRATE WITH US!!

2004 has been a year of important struggles in the
fight for racial justice in California schools. CFJ
successfully fought to defend college outreach
programs, celebrated the 50th anniversary of the
historic Brown V Board of Education Supreme Court
Decision and with allies from the Campaign for Quality
Education demanded that the governor settle the
Williams V. State of California lawsuit. Come hear
about the victories and challenges from this year and
our exciting plans for next year. Also come meet our
new Executive Director!

Pleas join us:
