Media activist, author, and cofounder of Paper Tiger Television and Deep Dish Satellite Network, Dee Dee Halleck has worked for over forty years at the forefront of the movement for democratic use of communication technology. Combining a DIY aesthetic and brazen humor, she creates films, videos, and Internet projects that smash mainstream media myths and encourage the establishment of community-based media. Her work has been featured at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Austrian Triennial of Photography, the Wexner Center for the Arts, and the Berkeley Art Museum.
