That's not a gun. That's a less-lethal launcher. It fires plastic pepper balls. There's a difference. So get a life. I love people who frown at police officers standing at a protest. Like mobs of people should be allowed to trash the City without regard. And police officers shouldn't carry guns? WHATEVER.
by the people's vote
maybe that's the problem?
OK ball fans, read this about your less than lethal weapon:

Comission To Look At Crowd Control Measures, Less-Lethal Weapons

BOSTON -- A commission investigating the death of a college student during a Red Sox celebration will look not only at what went wrong that night, but also at police crowd control methods and weapons like the one believed to have caused the student's death, the chairman of the panel said Wednesday.

Donald Stern, the former U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, was tapped last week by Boston Police Commissioner Kathleen O'Toole to lead an independent investigation into the Oct. 21 death of Victoria Snelgrove.

Snelgrove, 21, died hours after being struck in the eye socket with a pepper-spray pellet fired by police as they tried to control a raucous crowd after the Red Sox won the American League pennant over their archrivals, the New York Yankees.

Stern said he met Tuesday with O'Toole to discuss the scope of the panel's investigation, which is separate from a police internal affairs probe and a review by the Suffolk District Attorney's office.

in your eye! 'cause sometime good cops hit the wrong people.

Maybe this poor girl was a Republican, you never know.

And that would be wrong.
by you cant get traction
on the cop issue, so you go vs the guns.

its that kind of thinking that got us here tonight.

It is called less lethal, because that is exactly what it is. If it was Not Lethal, then it would never kill someone. Using less lethal is alot better than using lethal.

Why are there always guns? Because you never know. From what I hear, at least one protester had a gun. 99 people might be great, nonviolent people, but the police are there to protect everyone. If someone started shooting protestors, you can be sure they would be there to take him/her down.

The pattern in history of violent political riots usually starts with a few stupid/drunk/angry, armed people in a pretty-peaceful if energetic crowd. But once someone starts shooting, riots happen.

This kind of fighting used to result in many post-election deaths all over the country. Clearly, the police don't want this to happen. And it doesn't happen.
by from what you hear?
you were there perhaps and observed this gun? If not, quit spreading unsubstantiated rumours.
