Labor Strife in Northern California on KDVS Davis 90.3 FM, Friday, 10/22, 5pm to 6pm
Labor strife involving locked out hotel workers in San Francisco and UC service workers in Berkeley, Davis and throughout the UC system will be featured on the KDVS Davis 90.3 FM public affairs program "Speaking in Tongues" tomorrow, Friday, 10/22, from 5pm to 6pm
Members of UNITE HERE Local No. 2 will be interviewed about the ongoing lockout of hotel workers in San Francisco.
A member and an organizer from AFSCME Local 3299 will be interviewed about the campaign to improve the working conditions and wages of low paid service workers in the UC system, as well as Gretchen Purser, one of the authors of the report, Berkeley's Betrayal, detailing the conditions for service workers at UC Berkeley
KDVS Davis 90.3 FM is a 9000 watt station that broadcasts through the Central Valley. It can be heard in the Bay Area over the Internet at the KDVS homepage: http://www.kdvs.org
The program will also be archived for one week, and can heard over the Internet or downloaded through the Schedule/Grid link in the Schedule Archives section located on the top left side of the homepage. Upon accessing the schedule, go to the Friday at 5pm entry, where there are RealPlayer and MP3 files of the previous week's program
