**********
Oakland-based Wendy Campbell, Director & Producer of the new documentary “Rosa Remembers Palestine” which premieres on Oct. 28 at 8pm at La Pena Cultural Center in Berkeley, will be featured as a guest on the famous Berkeley-based Pacifica KPFA radio station this Wednesday night Oct. 20 at 7pm. The show she will be appearing on is “Voices from the Middle East & North Africa”.

If you cannot listen in while the show is live or if you live outside California, then you can hear the interview later on the KPFA website which is http://www.me-radio.org.

In the interview, Ms. Campbell discusses the mission of her new media company MarWen Media (http://www.marwenmedia.com) and upcoming new documentary projects.

Ms. Campbell is pleased to announce that her documentary “Rosa Remembers Palestine” is already receiving rave reviews from those who have previewed it. In fact, KPFA will be using DVDs and VHS copies of the documentary as a KPFA fundraising item!

Her first film project was “Truth: Exposing Israeli Apartheid”, which even though it was low budget and not very high quality technologically speaking, was very well received and was sold to hundreds of people from 47 different states in the US, as well as to people in 7 different foreign countries. The documentary is a collage of footage shot in the Palestinian Territories under the brutal Israeli occupation, speakers who were eye-witnesses to the atrocities happening to the Palestinian people by the Israeli army who are largely funded by US tax dollars, and footage of local rallies for Palestinians’ rights.

Her second film project was “Neturei Karta: Jews Against Zionism”, which features a fascinating and informative lecture by the engaging Rabbi Weiss, who is a leader in the Ultra Orthodox Jewish Anti-Zionist organization the Neturei Karta (http://www.nkusa.org). He concisely and entertainingly explains in detail the history of Judaism and how Zionism came along in the late 1890s and has attempted to uproot the religion of Judaism and replace it with a racist nationalism, which Rabbi Weiss believes is the exact opposite of Torah-true Judaism. He also delves into the topic of how Zionist Jews manipulate the US media, and he explains how they do it. Footage of the Apartheid Wall that Israel is building in the Palestinian Territories is also featured.

Her third documentary “Rosa Remembers Palestine” is her most professional and compelling effort to date. This documentary is not just a documentary: it is an important historical document and a tool for political change. It features an interview with a Palestinian woman who became a refugee when she was forced out of her homeland along with hundreds of thousands of other Palestinians in 1948 when the Jewish Zionist state of Israel was created. Rosa was an eye-witness to this tragedy for the Palestinians, and shares the memories of the harrowing experiences she and her family endured at that time, which still haunt her to this day. Included in the documentary are old photos as well as recent footage of Palestinian homes that were demolished by the Israelis starting in 1948, again in 1967 and recently in the last few years showing how Israel’s ethnic-cleansing campaign against the non-Jewish indigenous Palestinian people has been happening since 1948 and is continuing up to this very moment in time. This documentary will help to make Americans aware of how their tax dollars are being spent in Israel, and may very well be instrumental in convincing fellow Americans to pressure the US government to stop supporting apartheid Israel and change its foreign policy in the Middle East.

by for the articles
the comments themselves are the pornography.

especially on threads with over 50 comments.

comments which usually mention the same names over and over.

comments which invariably talk about nazis, zionists, wendies, and nessies.

comments from people who come over from sf.indymedia to have a little fun.
by this is whassup here:
The hidden thread featured the self-admission of the subject, Ms. Campbell (upon questioning by the reading public here) that indeed, not only does she provide content for both the National Alliance as well as Stormfront websites, but also that this is a part of her conscious strategy to "build bridges" with those communities so that we all might "learn from each other." She maintains that her hatred of Israel jusitfies such behavior.

Given that she's a guest on KPFA and has events promoting her work in the local community (like her new film), that would strike me as pertinent news-- assuming a common antifascist value in and of the local radical community, which might be a stretch, I dunno. You tell me.

Suppressing the conversation that brought these facts to light, by using a few of the comments to condemn the lot of them, is, in fact, the real embarrassment-- an idea I assume you meant to imply (to different purposes) by your use of the term "pornography." Which is to say, you're not above foisting your values onto everyone either, are you?

The fact that the censor in this case repeatedly leaves the head article up-- a publicity advertisement for Wendy Campbell, Stormfront correspondent-- is the burlesque element to the hilarity of the proposition that censorship protects community standards.

I refuse to accept that "building bridges" with neonazi organizations is acceptable behavior by local community standards-- even if there is a lot of less-than-articulated Jew-hatred going on out there, for other reasons that people haven't thought through well enough. The latter is the sort of thing that works out with time and open dialogue. The former is disastrous, and happens with the collusion of silence and open secrets.

It's a very simple choice really, and most of us thought Indybay was making the right one in defending conversational openness, even to a bit of excess. But the pendulum is swinging and we are entering a reactionary period. Where will indybay stand (or fall) on the idea of censorship protecting community values? Stay tuned!!!!!!!!
by none of them accurate
but do continue to talk amongst yourselves. It's fascinating, really it is.

So much bandwidth, so much time on your hands...

I left up one comment from each side and am trying to keep this thread from having more comments every day than the rest of the site combined. It doesnt seem to be working though. If people were arguing about issues that would be one thing but it seems to be all personal attacks etc.. The original post doesnt appear to be problematic but people have issues with the author. Hiding something because of what someone said elsewhere would not fit with this sites editorial policy.

You have a comment summarizing what you learned from a 200 comment long hidden flamewar. Why the need to post new comments every minute? Your comments are all about censorship but I left one of your comments up that pretty much summarizes everything you have said in your hidden comments.
by fair enough.
maybe when you "wipe the shit off," as it's been so poetically described, it would not piss people off as much if the editor made their work explicit, like for example posting something that says "this was getting flamey, so i hid a lot of it. to see the hidden posts, click here" and provide a link.

then people who have made important points (that they refer to elsewhere, for example) dont feel desperate to remake them, and others dont have to get worked up about what is, otherwise, censorship.

access to ideas is the issue, and for me it always has been. i am formally sorry if that came off as something personal about you.
by because you cant defend it
because it's indefensible, and you know it.
by that suppressed thought also found here:
while they tell the ol'nespot to piss off, mind you:
by anti-Zionist
Why does Indybay give obvious Zionist gehrig "the last word" here?
Is Indybay a Zionist website in reality?
by felonious bunk
That's crazy talk.

What kind of fool commits a crime in front of witnesses?

It would be far preferable if the Nazi Wehrmacht KKKlanbell stopped stirring shit on this site. Then no one would react. Let's not forget KKKlanbell isn't the victim here. She's rather the provocateur.

by Critical Thinker
If I recall correctly, she eventually backpedaled from her embrace of that canard under duress on SF-IMC. Has she reembraced it since?

Anyhow, she has sunk one of her fangs into SC-IMC and has begun to pump her racist poison into it: http://santacruz.indymedia.org/newswire/display_any/13352/index.php#13940 .
