UNITE HERE Local 2 has called a rally for
Tuesday, October 12, 4:30 PM
in Union Square.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was supposed to be the press conference to end the 2 week strike, but since the Multi Employer Group decided to lock out the workers indefinitely it seems like it will mark the beginning of the next stage of the struggle.
Last night, Sunday the 10th, around 40 people or more got together and did a flying picket from one hotel to another to support the hotel workers. The action went really well and marks the beginning of attempts to organize larger, more radical support for the hotel workers. If the hotel owners, ie the Multi Employer Group, want to continue to escalate the situation we figure they will have a few special treats for them in the coming weeks.
Solidarity Forever
If you can't join the action this Tuesday join the picket lines on your own time and keep your eyes open for other actions to support workers' right to health care in the coming weeks...
