We are looking for the Akha Bay Area
We have been told by witnesses that numerous Akha hill tribe people have immigrated to the US and we are seeking to contact them and offer services.
We have been told of at least one Akha man in the Bay Area (may have come in with the Hmong years ago) and a number of families which have come with the Hmong in September.
We are looking for anyone who has contact with these Akha refugees.
The Akha are an imbattled hill tribe fighting for their right to survive in Southeast Asia, where they are particularly persecuted in Thailand by the government and where they are exploited by US MISSIONARIES and have their children taken away.
If you are a social worker, teacher, volunteer or community activist and you have had contact with any of the Akha people, please send us an email with information on how we can contact these people. akha [at] akha.org
