SNEAK PREVIEW!
David O. Russell (I [heart]The Huckabees, Flirting With Disaster, Spanking the Monkey)IN PERSON
with his new short film showing in conjuction with UNCOVERED.
SOLDIER'S PAY
Warner Brothers refused to release this short documentary directed by David O. Russell, originally intended to be included as an “extra” for the Director’s Cut DVD release of his earlier film, THREE KINGS. SOLDIERS PAY, a $180,000 documentary, features interviews with Iraqi refugees, human-rights officials and veterans of the current Iraq conflict. Warner Brothers considered the movie too much of a political hot potato to release ahead of the November elections, characterizing the film as a documentary that basically condemns war. Russell began working on the movie as part of the value-added material for the new DVD, beginning by catching up with several Iraqis who played extras in THREE KINGS. He eventually grew more ambitious and included interviews with people outside the frame of the original movie. David O. Russell appears IN PERSON after the 8:00 show. Running time: 35 minutes. THIS SHORT FILM WILL FOLLOW THE FEATURE PRESENTATION. Show time: 8:00 only!
