On Sunday, Sept. 18, there will be free art activities for kids ages 5-10 at San Francisco's Precita Park, Treat and Cesar Chavez from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Sponsored by School Board members Mark Sanchez and Eric Mar, the goal is to promote arts in public schools and show how arts help students learn science, math and other subjects.
Art activities will include printmaking, pinwheels, sandcandles and portraits. There will also be discussion on how to use these art activities to help support learning in science, math, social sciences and history.
