Photos from 8/29 Protest in Solidarity with Palestinian Hunger Strike

I attended the rally Sunday and the Israel side kicked ass. About that photo above. The kid held by Israeli soldiers is peeing in his pants, but moments before he was throwing rocks at the Israeli soldiers (photos shot by the same photographer).

The crowd was demonstrably in favor of the Israeli demonstrators.

As an American citizen and an Israeli-Arab, I think the US And Israeli flags together in that shot look beautiful.

There is nothing beautiful about the Palestinian children being held in Israeli prisons and being tortured, raped and not allowed access to their families. There is nothing beautiful about an 11 year old Palestinian girl being shot through the brain as she sat in her classroom. She will never see again and her dreams of becoming a doctor have been destroyed. As far as throwing rocks goes..it kind of brings to mind the story of David and Goliath. When you grow up with nothing but persecution and injustice everyday why wouldn't you learn to hate the persecutors? Genocide and aparthaid are never beautiful.

At least there's one person who honestly states his agenda. I didn't get a chance to ask him if he meant ALL of historic Palestine (ie the Jews should also evacuate the state of Israel, their historic homeland) or just the West Bank and Gaza. In either case, he obviously believes that it is OK to forbid Jews from living in certain countries. Last time we heard this was...oh right, Hitler.
