PBS and cspan coverage of what they're doing seems to reveal aesthetically weak vision inside the RNC. They used Van Halen to introduce George Bush sr. and people who saw the DNC will remember that they used a lot of Van Halen to appeal to swing voters too, but the repugs used a Muzak version with the voices removed, and just a synthesizer version of the main chorus of 'jump'.
They did a fairly lame version of a Saturday night Live spoof of a spoof. Some of the speakers aren't really that captivating, although I am totally willing to recognize a strong speaker with another perspective, and seem like they're struggling to just hit the four talking points they decided on - that Bush is a 1. firm leader and 2. has religious conviction, and 3. favors lower taxes and 4. will continue the war on terror.
Hastert endorsed more 'peace through strength'.
