Dear Solicitor General Colman,

It has come to my attention that an pre-trial prisoner, Tre Arrow (also known as Michael Scarpitti), has been restricted from the general population and is slowly being starved to death at your North Frasier Pretrial Centre in BC.I am writing to express my outrage over an innocent man, who has not been tried or convicted of anything, slowing starving to death on your watch.

It is my understanding that Mr. Arrow has been removed from the general population, where raw foods were available; and that apples in his cell were removed, while he was being taken to the doctor monitoring his starvation. If true, that treatment appears to be either grossly or
criminal negligent care of a human being.

There is no equitable or legal reason why someone cannot be fed produce while waiting for justice. It's not like Mr. Arrow is asking for gourmet meals or anything expensive. It is my understanding that Canadian law allows prisoners a diet in keeping with their conscience, yet you are refusing to follow this policy in Mr. Arrow's case. Mr.Arrow's diet is an essential part of his personal spiritual practice, and it is no more appropriate for you to insist that Mr.Arrow consume cooked food than it would be to insist that an orthodox jew eat pork..

I am witting to advise you that the whole world is watching, and to implore you to return Mr. Arrow to the general population and provide him with fresh produce before this becomes an international "incident". He has lost over 50 pounds while waiting for trial, how long will you allow this abuse to continue?.
