Pictures Of Counter Demonstrators At July 24th Palestine Protest
About 12 proIsrael protesters showed up a few hours after the Palestine protest started. The first ones mainly had signs against the wall Israel is building that takes away a lot of Palestinian land and divides many Palestinian communities. One of the proIsrael protesters dressed up as his version of a suicide bomber in way that was clearly a racist characture of how he thought Palestinians looked. Soon about a dozen Protest Warriors and others showed up along with some proIsrael folk who quickly left once they realized how right-wing their comrades really were (the Protest Warriors are a right-wing Republican group and some of the proIsrael folk who showed up and then left were wearing Kerry for President shirts) Here are a few pictures of the counter demonstrators (I'll try to post links later to the same Protest Warriors carrying far right signs at a few previous protests)
This Israel/Nike sign was worn by a proIsrael protester (I wonder if the person selling the t-shirts had intended it to be attacking the Israeli governments oppression of Palestinians)

For people who are so supportive of Arabs, you have a pretty hard time picking them out in a crowd. You even went as far as to say someone in Arabic Garb was a pathetic attempt at racism. However, both the man with the bomb tattoo and the mock suicide bomber are of Arabian decent.

There were maybe 5 protest warriors, and maybe 5-6 proIsrael types who were not bothered enough by the right-wing hatred not to leave. About 10 middle aged Israel supporters showed up for about 5 minutes saw the signs, saw the right-wing hate and left. I dont know if Dan stayed because he is now a right-winger or if he staid because he was mainly taking pictures and not interacting with people. The statements he yelled were sexist and him being gay doesnt make that any more of less likely (there are plenty of sexist gay men out there)

You said there were far more than 12 "or us". If you were one of the right-wingers there I would say there were between 5-6 "of you". This montage is certainly proof to all that there is such a thing as Jewish fascists. Ammiano is currently running for re-election from District 9 (the Mission & Bernal Heights) against several candidates who are pro-Palestinian and at least one of them stands a good chance of retiring Ammiano from his 10 years on the Board. The good Democrat Tom Ammiano came back from a trip to Israel claiming to "feel Israel's pain," whatever that is, and compared it to being gay in the US! He said absolutely nothing in sympathy of the Palestinians, and of course, never can, as every Democratic official and every Republican official must support Israel to stay in office.
It is at the local level that we need to dump the pro-Israel politicians and build a pro-Palestinian support network.

The people who showed up and left may have been Jewish but most of the really obnoxious people who were trying to shout down the speakers were most likely right-wing Christians (at least two of them look a lot like two anti-gay bible thumpers I've seen around various Bay Area campuses holding giant signs telling people they are going to hell).

I was there at the protest, and most definitely most of the counter protesters were indeed Jewish--- duh! Some of them were even Israeli and Russian and were speaking Hebrew and Russian. And they were obnoxious for the most part.
The post claiming that the obnoxious counter-protesters were mostly the Christian Zionists just reeks of prejudice, ignorance and blatant avoidance of the facts that Jewish Zionists are driving and spearheading the pro-Israel Zionism agenda in the US and the world.
On top of that I have seen most of these protesters before and their fearless leader is none other than arch-Jewish Zionist activist Steven Berley who is very active in the Jewish Community Relations. Just do a Google search on him.

The above post is an excellent example of the sheer illogic of Wendy Klanbell-and of her profound intellectual limitations. To say "If she admitted it" as opposed to the fact that she does NOT admit it makes perfect sense. It is what is called a "contrast" between what is and what could be. A child over the age of 5 could easily understand the difference and the larger point that is being made. Perhaps Wendy just takes too many mind-altering substances (assuming she has a "mind" to begin with.) And of course the only "racism" is hers; I've never made a comment denigrating any racial/ethnic or religious group which is far more than she can say. Only Nazis and fascists such as her. Wendy needs not only a prolonged stay in a mental institution but a lobotomy.
One good thing about the counterprotesters is that they really help win hearts and minds for the Palestinian cause. People who didnt know about the conflict over the wall now at least know that those who support the wall strongest hate Socialists, liberals, greens, Jane Fonda, Latin American heros like Che, Arabs, the UN and who knows what else (I think the protest warriors have had antigay marriage and other extremists banners at previous protests). Its sortof a straw man way to win an argument (since the real issues are more complex) but it works; obnoxious right-wingers supporting a cause that divides moderates helps win people to radical causes :)

You're lucky that the police let you use that bullhorn. At a protest in Union Square, I watched a guy in his 40s read the bill of rights with a bullhorn and one of the 50 police officers came over and said he would be arrested if he continued to use amplified sound.

First of all, there were almost 100 (not "12") counter protestors. IndyBay is afraid to tell the truth that A.N.S.W.E.R. and its pro-terrorist/fascist associates are now attracting much more counter-protestors than in the past.
Furthermore, the person wearing the black SF Giants cap is not a right wing Christian. He is a tolerant, left of center moderate who supports human rights, women's rights and the right of terror victims to identify and hold responsible all elements connected to terrorism.
Let's see if IndyBay can get its facts correct in the future and truly support human rights instead of terrorists and fascists.

honestly, i'm really afraid for jewish people who are becoming increasingly endangered by the acts of the extremists among them (just like muslims and christians are endangered by the extremists in their ranks).
i believe there is the potential for a huge backlash against israel and jews because of what is done for their sake in order to protect them and their interests. i never understood how any and every criticism of israel and jews is tantamount to being anti-israel and anti-jewish. somehow, the people who subscribe to this line of thinking are incapable entertaining the possibility that they could be doing wrong (unlike the rest of humanity).

Nice one line definition. Are you saying that every arab state or any other nation that does not have multiple ethnic groups is racist? Or are you saying that because Nazi germany had multiple ethnic groups that it was not rascist?

I live in Samaria the so called palestinians demand that i and all Jews leave my home. Did Israel kick out the arabs in 48? The arab leaders of egypt lebanon jordan ect told them to leave so they would not be in the way of the victorious armies that would throw the jews into the sea. Once their lived jewish communities throughout the ME after 48 all arab states did pogroms and forced the tens of thousands to flee against their wills.
