Michael Parenti is an internationally known award-winning author and lecturer whose most recent book, The Assassination of Julius Caesar: A People’s History of Ancient Rome, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He is one of the nation’s leading progressive political analysts and serves on the boards of Project Censored, the Independent Progressive Politics Network, and Education Without Borders, among others. His books are enjoyed by both lay readers and scholars, and his talks and commentaries are played on radio and television stations to enthusiastic audiences in the U.S., Canada, and abroad.
“A central U.S. goal, as enunciated by the little Dr. Strangeloves who inhabit the upper echelons of policymaking in the Bush administration, is to perpetuate U.S. global supremacy. The objective is not just power for its own sake but power to insure plutocratic control of the planet, power to privatize and deregulate the economies of every nation in the world . . . to insure not merely the supremacy of global capitalism as such, but the supremacy of U.S. global capitalism by preventing the emergence of any other potentially competing superpower or . . . regional power.” -- Michael Parenti, “To Kill Iraq”
