The Cascadia Media Collective is on the road with our newest video from the front lines of struggle against free trade, environmental exploitation and colonization.
With 120 minutes of exciting footage from protests against the Free Trade Area of the Americas(FTAA) in Quebec and Miami, actions against
the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Cancun and much more…we’ll show you how “guerrilla media” can be a vital component of today’s resistance movements.
The Cascadia Media Collective is a group of guerrilla journalists from Eugene, Oregon producing videos, audio CDs, pamphlets, and other multimedia projects. Our goal is to not only inform people of social injustice and environmental destruction but also to strengthen and mobilize the community of resistance. We’ve produced documentary films including Guerrilla Video Primer, A Year in the Streets, US Off the Planet, and Umpqua: Oregon’s Threatened Paradise in an effort
to create a vibrant alternative to the corporate/state propaganda packaged as the nightly news. (For more on the Cascadia Media Collective visit http://www.cascadiamedia.org)
We reject the model that insists media can only be produced by "unbiased” professionals and embrace a vision where communities work cooperatively
with one another to share stories of struggle and liberation. We’ll share our stories with you and invite you to get involved in producing or supporting D.I.Y. (do it yourself!) media in your community.
Join us for the Guerrilla Media in Action Tour, this Friday and Sunday!
$5 donation requested (no one turned away for lack of funds).
