On Thursday, May 13th 2004, The First Place Fund for Youth will host its annual There’s No Place Like Home fundraiser. The event will begin at 5:30pm at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center and will feature live music, delicious hors d’oeuvres. A silent auction will also be on the agenda to include vacation homes and special entertainment and recreational packages.
The evening’s program will highlight former foster youth speakers who will discuss the challenges of life after foster care and the importance of services like those offered by First Place. Proceeds from the event will provide affordable housing and comprehensive support services to youth who “age out” of the foster care system.
Ticket price is $50.00 and we are anticipating an attendance of around 300.
