20March - Jail Solidarity Photos and Report
Photos and Report from the March 20th Jail Solidarity.

Sorry for the poor photo quality. It was hard to get photos in the dark.

Around 50-60 people showed up at the location of 850 Bryant to show solidarity with the folks who were arrested during or around the breakaway marches. The scene started out extremely mellow and peaceful compared to what had occurred earlier in the day.
That was, until a line of riot cops (for no apparent reason) formed a police line and started snatching random folks and one NLG legal observer. The Legal Observer was thrown to the ground and pulled away while folks proceeded to yell and demand an explanation as to why the cops were detaining an obviously impartial observer.
The people snatched were detained and had their information and photos taken. It was later determined that people were detained because they were "potential terrorist threats" on account that they were concealing their identities with masks. (officers were apparently quoting the Patriot Act) The NLG Legal Observer was detained because he "got in the way".
It was pretty apparent throughout the whole day that the police were targeting folks who seemed as though they were organizers and this is just another case point towards that observation.

Does anyone have any info on the individual who was arrested at the vigil (the man who was tackled with me)? Someone on the scene said his name is Amir. We have not heard from him, and we want to make sure that he is ok and help fight his case. If anyone knows him, or has any more info, please call the legal hotline @ 415-285-1011. Thanks.
