US troops 'made Aristide leave'

by australian
HAITIAN leader Jean Bertrand Aristide was taken away from his home by US soldiers, it was claimed today.

A man who said he was a caretaker for the now exiled president told France's RTL radio station the troops forced Aristide out.

The American army came to take him away at two in the morning," the man said.

"The Americans forced him out with weapons.

"It was American soldiers. They came with a helicopter and they took the security guards.

"(Aristide) was not happy. He did not want to be taken away. He did not want to leave. He was not able to fight against the Americans."

The RTL journalist who carried out the interview described the man as a "frightened old man, crouched in a corner" who said he was the "caretaker of the residence".

Aristide fled Haiti today in the face of an armed revolt. The United States has ordered Marines to the Caribbean state to help restore order.

The only thing that will stop these capitalist/imperialist pigs from fucking over everybody will be a world movement -- a "leaderless resistance" -- that rejects one-sided "non-violence" and puts the fear of the assassin's bullet or the equivalent into the rich and powerful themselves, as well as their principal agents.

Violence has not worked yet. The masses yes, but resisting in the Gandhian way. Non cooperation.

Send letters of Shame to the perpetrators of the coup in Haiti and its supporters in the international community. This includes Kofi Annan at the UN who did not act when international support was truly needed and , of course, the U.S. State Department's Colin Powell who has hypocritically undermined and overthrown a democratically elected government in Haiti. I have not bothered to include contact info for the Whitehouse. The level of arrogance and distain for public opinion is so great there that you would be wasting your time.
