Gov. Schwarzenegger orders attorney general to take steps to stop gay weddings

by Lockyer and Arnold Must Go
BURLINGAME, California (AP) - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger waded deeper into the debate over same-sex marriages, directing the state attorney general to take immediate legal steps to stop San Francisco from granting marriage licenses to gay couples.

Schwarzenegger told a cheering crowd at the state Republican convention that "in San Francisco, the courts are dropping the ball."

"It's time for the city to stop travelling down this dangerous path of ignoring the rule of law. That's my message to San Francisco," he said Friday night.
A spokeswoman for Lockyer told the Los Angeles Times that the attorney general's office planned to seek a judgment soon declaring the city's action a violation of state law, but said Schwarzenegger had no authority over the elected Democrat.

If Schwarzenegger is so unable to represent us here in the Bay Area, then I urge everyone to show him that we are unable to support his outrageous regressive $15 BILLION bond act (Prop. 57).

Vote AGAINST his Propositions: 57 & 58.

Vote FOR the progressive Proposition (56) to break the Republican minority stranglehold on the budget each year.

The queer community must show Ahnult that he *will* pay a price for his anti-gay activism: that we will work smartly and effectively to defeat his agenda.

Schwarzenegger voices concern over potential civil clashes in S.F

"All of a sudden, we see riots, we see protests, we see people clashing. The next thing we know, there is injured or there is dead people. We don't want it to get to that extent,'' the Republican said in his first appearance as governor on a Sunday talk show.
