Kerry and Edwards Sold Out
When George Bush "brought it on," John Kerry and John Edwards backed off.
Presidential candidate, Senator John Kerry challenged George Bush with a defiant, "Bring it on!" And Senator John Edwards chimed in with a feisty, "I am so ready for this fight!" But the fact is when George Bush "brought it on," Kerry and Edwards backed off.
When Bush began his assault upon civil liberties by proposing the Patriot Act, Senators Edwards and Kerry supported him. When Bush demanded the unrestricted ability to wage war on Iraq – or any other country of his choosing, Edwards and Kerry supported him. And when Bush sought to consolidate his power over the American people via the Homeland Security Act, Edwards and Kerry supported him.
Both Edwards and Kerry failed to ask the tough questions when tough questions should have been asked. They remained silent while bonafide patriots were castigated for speaking out against the Bush regime -- and they looked the other way while our soldiers were sent to fight and die in an illegal war.
Worse yet, they failed to honor their oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic," while domestic enemies wage war on our civil liberties -- which begs the question -- whose side are they on?
