"Safeway You're Breaking Our Hearts" ACTION 2/14

by DASW Safeway Solidarity
DASW Safeway Solidarity Contingent in this Valentines Day's Reclaim the Streets March.
RECLAIM THE STREETS! RECLAIM HEALHCARE RIGHTS!

Join a DASW Safeway Solidarity Contingent in this Valentines Day's Reclaim the Streets March. Along with labor pickets at Safeways around town, pirates, Robin Hoods and cupids taking part in Reclaim the Streets will bring Valentines to Safeway workers and a big Valentine to the management to let them know they are "breaking our hearts".

MEET: Meet 12 Noon, Saturday February 14th, Stanyan and Haight with the Reclaim the Streets gathering. We will stay with Reclaim the Streets through the beginning of their event, then move as a contingent to the  7th and Fulton Safeway. Feel free to meet us at the Safeway if you arrive late around 2:30pm

MEET: 7pm Friday February 13th, for an ART MAKING PARTY, 755 54th St. @MLK, Oakland (8 blocks from Ashby or Macarthur BART). Come make a big heart sign letting Safeway know how much you love workers rights!

This action part of the DASW campaign supporting the striking grocery workers and demand healthcare rights for all. We are dedicated to fighting the WAR AT HOME by standing up to the corporate attack on our healthcare and social services. 70,000 workers in So.Cal are on strike or locked-out, many of whom are having difficulty paying rent, feeding their kids; many have even lost their homes due to the strike.

This is a crisis for the labor movement, workers and for all of us -- standing up to Safeway is standing up to the corporate attack on a decent standard of living at home and abroad. Remember, the CEO of Safeway is on the Board of Homeland Security!
