Join the Safeway Picketlines in Berkeley, Weds and Fridays

Weekly picketlines to support current picketlines put up by southern Cali grocery workers and expand the picket lines to stores not yet covered. Word is that more unions and community groups should be expanding the lines soon, but for now you can plug into the following times or just stop by an already established line where strikers are and offer your support.

Berkeley/Oakland Pickets at Safeway stores(until strike is over):

Wednesday nights sponsored by Labor Committee for Peace & Justice:
from 5-7pm at the North Shattuck Safeway, at Rose & Shattuck

Friday nights sponsored by the Alameda Labor Council:
from 5-7pm at the 51st/Broadway store

Other east bay pickets will be going up soon, currently their is rumor of an SEIU sponsored picket going up at Diamond District Safeway on Fruitvale, and all local unions are being encouraged to adopt stores to spread the word. Currently the strikers seem to be focusing on a couple stores on each side of the bay, for more info contact the Alameda Labor Council or check the Indybay calender at the bottom of the Labor Page for SF Picket info.
