Pacifica Now! Class on the Culture of KPFA Radio
Culture, at least in part, refers to the beliefs, customs, practices, and social behavior of a particular institution. What is the culture at KPFA and how does it contribute to what is heard on the airwaves? How might it be changed for the better? Speakers: Lavarn Williams, former KPFA Development Director; Nancy Delaney, former KPFA programming volunteer and union representative; Maria Gilardin, producer of TUC Radio and banned and fired KPFA programmer; and Tracy Rosenberg, KPFA's Interim Program Coordinator will address the issue of "KPFA’s culture" at the final class in the current Pacifica Now! Series. Sponsored by the Alliance for a People’s Pacifica and New College of California. Free. For more information, contact Don Foster and Neil MacLean: (510) 527-1884 or visit http://www.newcollegenews.net/pacificanow.
Location: New College Theater, 777 Valencia Street, San Francisco.
