FESTIVAL
MISSOULA MONTANA JUNE 20 ~ 24 2002
GlobalJAS will draw attention to the upcoming annual G8 meetings taking place near Calgary, Alberta, which begin June 26, 2002. The G8 (Group of Eight) refers to the self-constituted forum of leaders from the eight most powerful industrialized nations. The G8’s widespread influence, but lack of democratic accountability, fails to represent countries excluded from its private closed door deliberations, or the billions of people who are adversely affected by its agenda and policies.
The Global Justice Action Summit (www.globaljas.org) is a Forum on sustainable alternatives to economic globalization, a Fair on Sustainability and a Festival and Celebration of action for change.
