Growing Food in the City, afternoon talk with Daniel Miller - People originally settled in the Bay Area because of its incredible fertility and year-round growing season. Daniel Miller of the Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency Urban Gardening Institute/Spiral Gardens will host a discussion about releasing the bounty of your backyard, organically and sustainably. Topics will include how to get started, how to treat your dirt like soil, garden design, choosing the right varieties at the right time, starting plants from seed, pest and weed management, watering, tool selection, and more. This event is free.
