Watershed Restoration and Wetlands Management in Cuba with Yociel Marrero - Through the month of May 2002, Cuban chemical and hydraulic engineer, Yociel Marrero, will be touring both the East and the West Coasts of the United States. Mr. Marrero is co-director of Havana’s “Metropolitan Park Project” (PMH), a large and ambitious program to restore the urban watershed of Havana’s Almendares River. Issues of industrial, agricultural, recreational and residential management within the watershed are all being addressed by the PMH plan. Come hear Mr. Marrero talk about his work experiences and about Cuban programs for watershed restoration, wetlands management and alternative wastewater treatment. This event is free.
