Berkeley Farmers' Market, Center Street at Martin Luther King, Jr Way
Family Farm Day at the Berkeley Farmers’ Market is a complimentary event to Earth Day Berkeley (adjacent to us in Civic Center Park). Family Farm Day primarily highlights activities relating to life on farms. It is an opportunity for young and old to learn something while having fun. This year Family Farm Day will be co-sponsored by the Ecology Center/Berkeley Farmers’ Market and the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF).PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Farmers' Market (lots of organic veggies & fruit) and
Human powered hayrides (courtesy of Pedal Express and their amazing cargo bikes),
Baby goats,Hand wool spinning,
Observational beehive (with a glass side so you can look in on the honeybees at work),
and a hands-on opportunity to do your own beeswax candle making, Urban chickens,
California Alliance with Family Farmers tradeshow booth, Bio-Diesel Display
Bay Area Seed Interchange Library (BASIL)table and seed saving demonstration.
