'Arise...' is a monthly (every third friday) open mic joint for conscious
hip hop, spoken word/poetry in the East Bay, created due to the noticeable
shortage of venues for conscious, independent hip hop open mic in the East
Bay area. Advocating an anti-corporate, do-it-yourself attitude, 'Arise...'
is a space for everyone who's into hip hop and spoken word as a
revolutionary minded culture to come make it their own. Sign up for open
mic at the door.

Arise... benefits RACE (Revolutionary Anti-Authoritarians of Color), a newly
formed group in the bay area for anti-authoritarian activists/organizers of
color. (http://passionbomb.com/race)
