This action is the exciting kick-off of affinity group involvement in supporting the striking grocery workers. As decided upon at the New Year's
DASW Assembly, we are dedicated to fighting the WAR AT HOME by standing up to the corporate attack on our healthcare and social services. 70,000 workers in So.Cal are on strike or locked-out, many of whom are having difficulty paying rent, feeding their kids; many have even lost their homes due to the strike.
This is a crisis for the labor movement, workers and for all of us -- standing up to Safeway is standing up to the corporate attack on a decent standard of living at home and abroad. Remember, the CEO of Safeway is on
the Board of Homeland Security!
Members of the above listed affinity groups are calling for mass participation in
Saturday's already planned Labor Rally that will likely include direct action. Help leaflet and disrupt shopping at Safeway as usual! We want to show a strong presence of anti-war folks, connecting the dots between the war at home and abroad, and showing rockin' direct democracy style labor solidarity!
This action is part of the BOYCOTT SAFEWAY! campain in Northern
California. Help make it a great one!
